'Grobert' is an original hand drawn charcoal Sage Grouse on Strathmore 400lb drawing paper. Created March 1st, 2021. (14 x 17)
A proud, posturing male in mid courtship display, this Sage Grouse is representing the 60 or so birds remaining in the Canadian wilderness. Found in southern Alberta and Saskatchewan, their habitat is on the decline due to cattle grazing and infrastructure. Efforts are currently underway to restore their numbers, which is why 10% of all Sage Grouse proceeds will be going towards the Canadian Wildlife Federation. This non profit is doing research in the southern prairies and aims to restore and protect critical native habitat.
In addition to the original, this piece has been reproduced into 10 limited edition prints. (12 x 18)
